About me:

I was born in in a small town near in Odda, Norway in 1961, and moved with my family to H√łyanger in 1972, to where I currently live. I purchased my first single-lens reflex camera in 1996 and attended a workshop held by renowned photographer Morten Krogvold, where my fascination for photography truly was born. It was during that time that I realized what photography means to me. Since then, my passion for photography has developed and changed in new dimensions.

At that time, I found it necessary to start my own studio, where I could better develop my own style, as well as to better process the images that I was working on. Working and learning from other photographers has been a source of inspiration for me. Several times, I have participated in Master workshops with Krogvold and photographer Jens Edgar Haugen, as well as participating in photography seminars in Procida, Italy.

Current Project:

In 2009, I began on my current project, which is the documentation of portraits of known figures. Inspiration for the project started my studying the individuals whom are active in Norwegian cultural circles as well as individuals that have presented themselves as outstanding members in each their own fields.
Through the mentorship of Morten Krogvold and Oddleiv Apneseth, this project has progressed to an enormous catalog of photographs with over 50,000 accumulated images. The collection of photographs documents these portraits into two groups, “Stage Life” and “The Generous”. A gallery show presenting these photographs is planned in the fall of 2015.
